MINUTES OF SECOND EXECUTIVE COMMITTE MEETING
The second EC meeting was held at MELMARUVATHUR ADIPARASAKTHI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES , Melmaruvathur, Kancheepuram District on 19. 2. 2011 Saturday at 10.30 Am in the Department of Anatomy.

The following members conveyed their inability to attend the meeting

President welcomed the gathering.
Obituary reference was made by Dr Girija who spoke about late Dr Sudhakar Madhavan. 2 minutes silence was observed for the soul to rest in peace. It was resolved to send a condolence message to his wife.
Dr Vathsala Venkatesan requested a condolence message to be sent to Mrs Muthukrishnan also
Prof G Chandrasekar Organising Secreatary of the 34th annual conference informed that tentative date for the conference would be 15th & 16th of October,2011. Registration fee will be like previous year
Dr Sankar informed that ISSN number has been received for the print version of our Association Journal "International Journal of Anatomical Sciences". The number is 2230 – 9365. Editorial board is in the process of receiving eISSN for the online version of the journal. He also outlined the difficulties in getting our journal indexed. However, efforts are being taken to realise it in the near future. He also wish the association to consider consulting a legal advisor and get guidance in order to safeguard association from legal hassles with respect to copyright infringement, plagerism etc that may arise due to authors' either intended or
unintended actions.
Dr WMS Johnson conveyed the concern of a few members for not providing free issue of the printed version of the journal. Dr Vathsala & Dr Girija endorsed his point. However, Dr Sankar & Dr Prakash categorically stated the reasons for the practical impossibility of providing free journals to members which include but not limited to the fact that each copy would cost between Rs.600 to Rs.800. Hence it is not possible at this point of time to consider giving away free journal copies to the members of the association.
Under Any other matter.
For practical administrative purposes, the members list is to be classified as Regular life members & student Life members(UG).
Prof G Chandrasekaran suggested it to be classified as Anatomists & non Anatomists. This for the purpose of sending communications, exploring possibility of giving Journal copy etc.,
Former secretary Dr Rajaram to be requested to hand over the Files of Association the present general Secretary Dr S.Senthilkumar.
Meeting came to a close with the general secretary proposing the vote of Thanks.
