Minutes Of The General Body Meeting Held on 11th October 2014 at Chengalpattu Medical College, Chengalpattu

MEMBERS PRESENT FOR THE MEETING

President Prof. Dr. Sundarapandian welcomed the gathering. As there was no required quorum for the general body, the meeting was adjourned & reconvened after 10 minutes.

Following agenda was discussed and resolved in the meeting

1. General Secretary Dr. S. Senthil Kumar informed that his report read in inaugural function be considered as approved. The general body appreciated the General Secretaries efforts and approved the report.
   
   
2. Treasurer Dr. S. Prakash read the treasurers report and submitted the annual statement of account for the year 2013-2014 the general body appreciated the his efforts and approved the report.
   
   
3. Editor in-Chief of “International Journal of Anatomical Sciences”, Prof. A. Krishnamurti presented the editorial report. He requested the members to send the scientific papers in time for publication. He also thanked his editorial team Dr. J.P. Gunasekaran , Dr. V. Sankar And Dr .S. Rajasankar for their active participation in bringing out the issues successfully. The printed version was distributed to the members who attended the general body meeting. The general body appreciated the efforts of Editor in chief and his editorial team and approved the editor’s report unanimously. Regarding IJAS subscription fee a revision was moved in the meeting and it was resolved unanimously to increase fee to Rs.3000/- plus postal & handling charges for library/Institutional subscription fee only. No change in individual subscription.
   
   
4. Venue of the conference for next year was placed before the GB and approved
   
     • Asan Memorial Dental College
     • Tagore Medical College
   
   
5. Members discussed about the awards for paper presentation in each session. Most of the members felt that the importance of the award goes down in awarding in each session and the awards must be restricted to three for each category (Faculty and PG). To encourage the research for Undergraduate student for each session one award can be given.
   
   

   Members also suggested the award session to be conducted separately. The General Body accepted and it was unanimously resolved it will be followed from the forthcoming conference.
   
   

   The rules and regulation regarding the award session will be finalized in the next EC meeting.
   
   
6. Members discussed about the dissertation topics for year 2014-2015 and the following topics were unanimously resolved.
   
     • Undergraduate - Congenital anomalies of kidney
     • Postgraduate - Coronary artery and its clinical application
   
    General Secretary Dr. S. Senthil Kumar requested all the members to motivate their students  to participate in the dissertation competition.

8. The General Body appreciated the efforts of the webmaster Dr. W.M.S. Johnson and wished him to continue the office.
   
   
9. The meeting came to an end with the Treasurer Dr. S. Prakash proposing the vote of thanks by thanking all the members for their august presence and their lively interactions.
