Minutes Of The General Body Meeting Held on 13th October 2012 at Saveetha Medical College, Thandalam

MEMBERS PRESENT FOR THE MEETING

President Prof. G.Chandrasekar welcomed the gathering. As there was no required quorum, the meeting was adjourned & reconvened after 5 minutes.

Following agenda were discussed and resolved in the meeting

1. General Secretary Dr .S.Senthil Kumar informed that his report read in inaugural function be considered as approved. The general body appreciated the General Secretaries efforts and approved the report.
   
   
2. Treasurer Dr.S.Prakash read the treasurers report and submitted the annual statement of account for the year 2011-2012 the general body appreciated the his efforts and approved the report.
   
   
3. Editor in-Chief of “International Journal of Anatomical Sciences”, Prof. A.Krishnamurti presented the editorial report. He requested the members to send the scientific papers in time for publication. He also thanked his editorial team Dr. J.P.Gunasekaran , Dr.V.Sankar And Dr.S. Rajasankar for their active participation in bringing out the two issues successfully. The printed version was distributed to the members who attended the general body meeting. The general body appreciated the efforts of Editor in chief and his editorial team and approved the editor’s report unanimously.
   
   
4. Venue of the conference for next two years was placed before the GB and approved
   
     • 2013 – SRM MEDICAL COLLEGE – Potheri
     • 2014 – CHENGALPATTU MEDICAL COLLEGE - Chengalpattu
   
   
5. Members discussed about the dissertation topics for year 2012-2013 and the following topics were unanimously resolved.
   
     • Undergraduate - Structure And Function Of Vocal Apparatus
     • Postgraduate - Recent Advances In Stem Cell And Its Clinical Applications
   
     General Secretary Dr .S.Senthil Kumar requested all the members to motivate their students to participate in the dissertation competition.
   
   
   
6. General Secretary placed and briefed the members about a letter received from Dr.P.Rajendran Professor of Microbiology, Sri Ramachandra University and his research scholars have proposed to institute a research award in the name of Dr. Melani Rajendran, Professor of Anatomy, Sri Ramachandra University and a senior member of the Association. They are willing to deposit Rupees - 30000 (thirty thousand only) as corpus fund.
   
     The general body appreciated the efforts of Dr.P.Rajendran and his students for commemorate instituting the award. This item was approved by the General body and requested Dr.P.Rajendran to furnish details of the award criteria, regulations and exact title of award in the forth coming executive committee meeting of the association for ratification.
   
   
   
7. Prof. R.Muthusamy Trustee- M.M Cooper Trust (in consultation with the other members of the Trust) informed the general body their willingness to merge the trust with Association Of Anatomists Tamil Nadu and transfer corpus fund available in account i.e. total amount of Rupees – 30000/- (thirty thousand only) to Association. General body accepted the request and resolved will take care of the trust activity through Association of Anatomists, Tamil Nadu. The general body welcomed the decision and thanked Prof.R.Muthusamy.
   
   
8. As a special gesture, general secretary Dr. S. Senthil Kumar on behalf of the association thanked Prof. Saratha Kathiresan for complimenting nearly 500 copies of book entitled THE HUMAN FOETAL THYMUS to the delegates who attended the 35th annual conference of Association of Anatomists Tamil Nadu.

11. The meeting came to an end with the Treasurer Dr.S.Prakash proposing the vote of thanks by thanking all the members for their august presence and their lively interactions.
