MINUTES OF THE GENERAL BODY HELD ON 25TH SEPTEMBER, 2010 AT KARPAGAVINAYAGAR INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES.

MEMBERS PRESENT

The President Dr Aruna convened the meeting to order.
Secretary Dr  S.Senthilkumar welcomed the gathering.
Dr V.Sankar & Dr S.Prakash informed the body that the Registration certificate of the Association is not to be traced which is required for the Journal. Senior members told that it might be in IBMS,
Dr WMS Johnson raised that awards should be restricted to members working in Tamilnadu. However Dr Swayam Jothi said all members should be entitled. Majority said it is continued as it is for the moment.
However, awards will not be given to authors of other branches as decided earlier as far as Paper presentation & Paper published. Similarly it was resolved not to induct other specialists as office bearers of the Association.
Dr. Melani Rajendran  suggested awards be restricted to Members working in India. Dr Ramasamy corrected it as work done in India & it was resolved so.
It was resolved to hold next GB meet between 2 pm & 3 pm on day one of conference. Conference on Trial basis will be held in October, 2011 to facilitate student participation.
Auditors report was presented by Treasurer, Dr.S.Prakash. General Body approved the report.
General Body appreciated the efforts taken by Dr S.Aruna & Dr TK Balaji to collect the Annual membership fee during the annual conference 2009 chettinad. A sum  Rs52,000 was collected towards annual membership.

Dr.V.Sankar briefed about Journal going on line. He answered the FAQs. Efforts are on for getting the journal indexed. Members appreciated the effort of the Dr.A.Krishnamurthi and Dr.V.Sankar for bring the First International edition of the Journal “International Journal of Anatomical Sciences” .Editorial committee suggested forming a Peer Review Panel of members to review the papers received for the Journal. It was resolved that all the members should contribute as a peer reviewer depending upon the subject expertise and also should suggest other potential reviewers from outside to enrich the panel.
